Quite frankly, I have never had truffles; well, at least, not knowingly. However, I have been fascinated by truffles, mainly because they are the most expensive food in the world. I wonder why.
A truffle is really a fungus and is highly prized as a food. It is difficult to grow commercially and authentic truffles have to be hunted. This very interesting film gives you a great insight into this food, called by French gourmand “the diamonds of the kitchen.”
