Bohemian Rhapsody

I am sure many of you would have heard ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, a song by the British rock group Queen. Written by Freddie Mercury, the song featured in Queen’s 1975 album ‘A Night at the Opera’. Many people consider it the greatest rock song of all time. What is unique about the song is that it has six distinct phases – intro, ballad, guitar solo, opera, hard rock and outro.

Incidentally, for people not into rock music, Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, was born Farrokh Bulsara (a Parsi) and grew up in India (although he was born in Zanzibar). Freddie, who died in 1991 of AIDS-related bronchopneumonia, was one of the finest rock singers the world has seen.
